Second project of co-operation of the NGO “Visio sense fronteres” with the General Union of the Cooperatives in MAPUTO (MOZAMBIQUE). From 15th August to 1st September 2004.

Objectives:

Carrying out sight revisions of the underprivileged sectors as well as the study and optometrical treatment of the people treated

The project is carried out with the collaboration of two organizations of the country, the NGO Kulima and the UGC (General Union of Coperativas). And in addition with the person in charge to the department of ophtalmology of General hospital of Maputo, doctora Yolanda Zambujo.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Conclusión:

Representatives of the Ministry of Mozambican Health have transmitted their satisfaction to Visio Sense Fronteres for the work carried out. In addition the project is carrying out pioneering opthometrical revisions and free distribution of glasses.

Visio Sense Fronteres, receives a warm welcome from the Mozambican population and the various leaders of associations with whom we collaborate.

The visited centers were: Center of Benfica and Centro de Mahotas belonging to the UGC. Center of Kongolote, Center of Mossumbuluco and Centro de Xinonnanquila, belonging to Kulima

Mozambique is the 7th poorest country of the world, their economic needs are many, and its rate of mortality is very high, mainly produced by AIDS and malaria, and by the consequences that these diseases carry.

 Visio Sense Fronteres, receives a warm welcome from the Mozambican population and the various leaders of associations with whom we collaborate.
