The journey was financed by each one of the participants
The bevelling machine was donated by Indo and part of the intraocular lenses and surgery material by different laboratories
The rest of the necessary material was provided by private donations
The glasses that we took have been collected by members of Federopticos (we are grateful for their constant support)

Objectives
1. Setting up a workshop in the hospital of Oshakati to assemble the glasses.
2. Staff training to use and handle the workshop
3. Carrying out visual tests to the Oshiwambo population (majority ethnic and underprivileged group.)
4. Surgery to eliminate the blindness in 125 people
5. Carrying out visual tests in schools of the north of the country.
Surgeries done:
- 70 cataracts
- 36 pterigios
- 5 surgeries of glaucoma: trabeculectomias
- 4 procedures of ocular plastic surgery
- 8 iridotomias optical
Projects
- To carry out visual tests to children in school age (from 7 to 12 years) in the north of Namibia (Oshakati)
- To carry out campaigns to albinos
- Rehabilitation in short sight and correction of the degeneration of the eye in adults
- To carry out operations on cataracts, pterium and glaucoma
